MY MOM STARTED A YOUTH ARTS PROGRAM! #ARTSAVESLIVES

22788644984_1b85e945c3_zPart of my activism  began in a youth arts troupe, the Los  Angeles Drama Club founded by my mother, Blaire Baron Larsen. I am Member #1 of the Los Angeles Drama Club. It began when I was 5.
There were two of us to start and now we are about 200 and operate  year round in two areas of L.A.

23048624409_f7c3c7fe81_zWe Are the country’s youngest Shakespeare Troupe, 10 years running. We always connect our plays to a current and relevant issue in our lives and that way Shakespeare comes alive even more. This year, The Tempest takes place on Tuvalu – an island that is being submerged by the ocean doe to man-made climate change.

A Winter’s Tale will honor the LGBT community by having the romance and marriage of Florizel and Perdita be two women! Our teens champion these causes and I am proud to be Member #1 of the LA Drama Club.

I am happy to share in the 10 year celebration Fundraiser and Shakespeare Youth Festival, L.A.  Here is more about it.

I am a 17-year-old activist/arts advocate and have been participating in marches, protests and petitions since I was 5 years old. I serve on Mayor Garcetti's Youth Council for South LA. And have generated a petition to ban factory farming in California with over 55,000 signatures. I organize community events and get teens like me connected with social justice issues and activism all over LA.
